I am sure most of you all know this, but I would just like to encourage you all to watch the men's basketball game against Dook (yes, it's spelled that way on purpose) this Wednesday at 9:00pm at home. Our starting star point guard Ty Lawson may be out with an ankle sprain, but if he is, expect Quintin Thomas to step up.

please, basketball Gods, please please PLEASEE let Ty Lawson be okay and play in the game. And couldn't agree more with heathergee... This is by far one of THE biggest games of the year! GO HEELS!

p.s. if any of yall got tickets to dook game, I am jealous beyond belief.

So how about my friend, a first year, got a PHASE ONE ticket.

My own brother didn't get one, so he convinced Eve Carson into giving him hers.

Heather, I really don't have plans but I want to watch it on a huge screen with lots of people. I'm wondering if Franklin would have any kind of room for me. I'd be up for sitting at a bar or something like that. I'll call my brother and ask for advice.

I heard Lawson was in crutches around campus today. Roy said a decision will be made right before the game...they'll test out how his ankle feels and everything. Roy said it's hard to go from crutches at 3 PM tuesday to lacing up for the game at 9 on wednesday. QU will have to step up.

I'll trust Coach to make the right decision. I'm sure he's thinking about Lawson being healthy in March, so I'm sure if there is any concern, Lawson will sit out. Either way, it should be a good game. Hansbrough will dominate the inside against Singler...a freshmen....

Did the Heels win? I can't stand Paulus. Dook just ****es me off now. Did Ellington and Hansborough clean house? Unfortunately, I wasn't able to watch the game because I had work.

The game is Wednesday night--it has not been played yet.

What is the situation with students getting into games? How many students actually get to go to a basketball game? I saw one of the announcers on tv say that 400 students get to sit in the student floor section--that doesn't seem like very many for an arena as large as the Dean Dome!? What are the chances you will never get into a game as a freshman, etc.?

What's the general consensus (of UNC Students) on Lawson? He's obviously a tremendous talent, but seems to be injured or playing with injuries all the time.

Everyone loves Lawson just like everyone loves all the rest of the basketball players. They're celebrities here. Just walking past Danny Green in the quad or something is reason enough to send an excited "bball player sighting!" text message to nine of your closest friends..or maybe that's just me :)

Haha Leah I saw Danny Green like 3 times today, he walks very slow.

I actually had a conversation with Deon Thompson yesterday when I was handing out magazines for a club I'm in. He was extremely friendly and polite and even joked around with me a bit.

And yeah what Leah said, everyone loves every single Carolina basketball player. Roy does not recruit thugs, no matter how good they could be. He is known for not just recruiting quality players but quality PEOPLE also. The general consensus from people that I've heard talking to basketball players is that they're very polite and will give you the time of day if you talk to them.

I would totally have Danny Green's children 9 months from now. 9 weeks if that were possible. hahah

I did hear a "Tyler Hansbrough's actually a jackass" story, though, from one of my friends:
Her friend was out at a club and started dancing with Tyler, and then he asked if she wanted to leave and go to another party with him. She politely refused and he said, incredulously, "But I'm Tyler Hansbrough!"

hahaha, I didn't mean personally, I meant from a pure like as an athlete "ow that guy is injured all the time" or "damn it's a shame he's injured all the time" perspective. It's good to hear these stories about the players though.

Watching this game is painful, hopefully the heels can get some momentum into the break.

yeah this sucks. Hansbrough was amazing, but not having Lawson really hurt. Ellington and Green were cold and sometimes really unlucky (the in and out for wayne). With all this against us, duke still couldn't pull away until the end where it was just about emotions. hopefully lawson comes back soon, we'll need him down the road if we want to win the ACC.

Oh yeah, Duke's 3-PT shooting was impressive but their lack of a true inside presence will cost them in the NCAAs. They won't get to the final four without a legit inside threat. UNC is still in better shape for the long term.
