UNC vs. USC

north carolina vs. south carolina....

does anyone care to compare & contrast for me?

(UNC @ chapel hill, USC @ columbia)

UNC hella better

i agree ... college of charleston is something to look at too

UNC hands down...its cheaper too

is USC easier to get into for an out of stater? I know UNC is very tough.

USC in NOT a public school therefore they dnt care if ur from pomono calif or saigon so long as u give em the MULAAHHHH

Sebma, the OP is talking about University of South Carolina, not University of Southern California. South Carolina IS a public school.

Living in Columbia, I know for a fact that UNC is MUCH better and more prestigious. USC sucks, honestly, the campus is pretty bad. I visit it every week to walk in the horse shoe. UNC is beautiful.

UNC is beautiful....and a much better school. if you are in SC it will be hard to get into UNC though

UNC is leagues ahead. It has an amazing feel (size, quality of student body, academics) and an awesome social scene (parties on demand).

In the academic departments, the difference between the two is not off the charts. But UNC incoming class probably has better stats. And while not hideous, the USC campus not as attractive as UNC. But the party scene at USC is hard to beat.

joke is....i think that UNC is better, but USC i would venture to bet has higher Incoming SAT scores than does UNC b/c SC is private and doesn't need to adhere to state regulations to take so many state residents like UNC does. BTW, UNC is NOT that hard to get into out of state. If you are competitive for top 20 schools 1400+ SAT, UNC should be a very good match. I think that UVA is the hardest school to get into out of state

For the last time we are talking about SOUTH CAROLINA not SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA!!!!

oooo, sorrry

"I think that UVA is the hardest school to get into out of state"

Bball.. where would berkeley and ucla fall in your opinion? i have them as harder than UVA OOS.

this is just my opinion,

UVA and UCLA are the hardest out of state schools to get into, i think UCLA is more challenging than Berk b/c for an out of stater, LA is so appealing to us and i just know a ton that got into Berk but not UCLA. In addition, UVA is pretty hard to get into just for VA residents, and i think its pretty tough.

I would say for out of staters

UVA, UCLA, UC Berk are just a different level than the rest
next would be UNC
after that....
UMich
UWisconsin

then it falls downhill............

I think UCLA and Berkeley are by far the hardest for OOS acceptance, since their OOS spots are minimal in size. Next would be UVA and UNC.
