UNC vs. William and Mary

So I'm needing to choose between the two schools. I've visited UNC a couple times and love it. I'm visiting WandM on Monday and know very little about it, but my parents and guidance counselor think it would be ridiculous not to visit the school and consider it. I live in NC, by the way. I was just wondering what you guys would do. I want to do international studies.

Ha. There’s a new thread like this every day. Let’s see what school is compared to Carolina this time. j/k

Both are highly regarded, but offer different experiences. Virtually no sports scene whatsoever at W&M, but they have a really diverse student body from what I have heard. It pretty much depends on what you want to study. International studies in your case. Can’t go wrong either way. You should know a lot more after your visit. :)

I was talking to a grad student that did his undergrad at U&M and he described it as a very competitive environment where a majority of the student body seemed a bit socially underdeveloped. He said the town is very boring, whereas Chapel Hill is always a good time.

He said he was able to find his group, but it took him a while.

I chose UNC over W&M.

Do you get any financial aid from W&M?
