Basically my situation is I was placed on Academic Probation in Fall, and did worse and was placed on Subject to Dismissal in the Winter quarter. I managed to shape up in Winter quarter, and get out of STD and landed myself in good standing by getting a 2.0 gpa quarterly. Now I’m in a situation again where I may end up in STD again. I’m going to visit my Adviser as soon as possible, but does this mean I’m going to be dismissed from UCR for being on STD a second time? My overall GPA is still above a 2.0 gpa…just that this quarter, I may end up below a 1.5. Just considering the worst possible scenario here, since I technically can still recover with the upcoming finals. (I’m sitting at a C+, C-, and a D- right now but in the best scenario of getting B’s for my finals I can get a B-, C, D) -> I’m currently a sophomore if that helps
Also was looking around and saw something about getting below a -10 grade variance…any idea what that means? I think I have a +14
Worse comes to worst, I have to consider my options about being dismissed…would my credits at UCR transfer to a CC? Is it tough getting readmitted into UCR? One of the leading causes I feel that contributed to my decline in study habits was due to lack of motivation in school…perhaps coming back home to a CC and getting a job will help build that dedication/time management I used to be strict about back in high school.
