UNCSA Drama Acceptance

crunkiec!
CONGRATS!!! Did you first get an email or phone call saying you “recommended for admission” and then the acceptance letter in the mail? Or did you just get the letter of acceptance and never got the previous email or phone call?
thanks…and congrats! Quite an accomplishment!

Son just received his official letter in the mail today - no big packet just a skinny little envelope with very good news! Congrats to all!!

I just got my letter of acceptance today. :)

Congratulations!
I got a letter from the Dean that said something along the lines of “a place has been reserved for you in the Professional Actor Training Program for fall of 2010”. It said that I would be receiving my official letter of acceptance from Admissions in the mail soon. And yes, I am going!

Cool I’m going too. Future classmates!!! :)

My s got his official letter of acceptance to the school of drama today he was thrilled we live in CT

Huh, I’m from CT as well, and nothing yet. This is kind of terrifying.

yeah bogface, I’m from MD (even closer to NC) and haven’t heard anything. yikes. can’t help but worry that maybe they sent out all acceptances at once and rejections are just being sent out in shifts? i dunno. i just wanna hear something. congrats to all who have been accepted!

I got my rejection letter in the mail today! Woooooo. This process could not be any more excruciating if it tried (though the letter was very nice about it).

i have STILL heard nothing from the school…who else is in the same boat? It certainly seems as if they have sent out both rejections and acceptances. Should the most I can expect now be a waitlist letter? Also, I auditioned later…February 14. Could this have something to do with my lack of decision? Maybe I’m just trying to make sense of something that just doesn’t make any sense…who knows.

Obviously a waitlist situation. A bit distracting for all involved primarily because you feel like you can’t move on with those schools you are accepted into until you hear from the final stragglers.

Hey people who have been accepted there is Facebook group now " UNCSA Drama Class of 2014", Also I have a friend who auditioned the last weekend of auditions and he has found out already.

I got my acceptance letter on the 12th. The same day I sent in my rec letters, mandatory info for, application agreement, etc. They kept e-mailing me and asking for my stuff. I guess that makes sense now.

I was rejected by ncsa, but the letter said they encouraged me to apply next year. What’s up with that???

You were in the smaller pool of applicants that were being considered for admission, but they could not find a place for you in their class. My friend got the same letter and he’s actually considering it.

Hi everyone! I’m new to CC but I’ve been following these message boards for months, and I’ve very much appreciated all the advice and words of encouragement that are given. Just wondering if anyone out there has heard anything at all from UNCSA, being that their last round of auditions was this past weekend. It’s my first choice school and I’m (anxiously) awaiting a response from UNCSA, as well as my other schools. Any info at all would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Since they just finished this past weekend, you’ll probably have to wait a couple of weeks. When I was accepted it was St. Patrick’s day 2 years ago. Good luck to you.

My son spoke to Bill Poole yesterday who told him that the first round of letters will go out next week. Do not know if that means rejections or first wave of acceptances.

This is speculation from looking at the comments on this thread and others, but what I think UNCSA does is like some grad schools in that they accept the ones they think are most likely to accept them first to keep their yield up. That would be the NC kids because it is the least expensive prestigious option for them. Like if they have two or three actresses in the same talent ballpark that resemble each other and one is from NC, they will offer the spot to her first and see if she accepts outright. Then I think they fill out the group with different types in at least two more waves to keep from having to set up a waitlist. Those of us from way out of state will have to wait. Especially the girls since they only accept 10.

I think they base it on types. Look at their showcase. [UNCSA School of Drama Class of 2011 Meet Us](http://www.uncsadramashowcase.com/meetUs.htm) Nobody resembles anyone else in the slightest. I looked at it last year and it was the same story.

Three years ago NCSA sent out LIKELY letters after auditions to those who they seemed to be interested in (urging them to visit, contact students, faculty, and alums). My son received one. I am not certain if everyone who was offered admission received such a letter, and I know that everyone who received a letter did not get an offer of admission. Anyway, does anyone know whether NCSA is sending out these letters this year?
