Quick question: I auditioned last year and didn’t get in, but I did get a letter from Carl Forsman, the dean, saying that I should pursue directing and playwrighting. Anyone else get something similar this year, or even last year?

UVaHoo87, do you know of any students at UNCSA that were rejected their first audition and cam back the next year. I want advice on what i should do over the next year

I’ll see what I can find out for you. Also, I know last year some kids posted on this board about the “please think about auditioning again” letter. Might be worth a search in CC to figure out who and see if they still post

thanks I really appreciate the help, I tried to search CC I could only really find 2 other posts about the letter, and it seems like they stopped posting last year.

Anyone still waiting?

We are still waiting!

Then we are in good company!

Got her no today. It was a double rejection day. Ugh.

So sorry mtmom2014! We didn’t get anything and they didn’t return the call from the other day. I’ll just keep waiting. I’m a champion waiter.

I hope you get better results! This was my daughters first choice and the other no was her second. Moving on! Have my fingers crossed for you!

dramamom0804 - we also had ‘contact admissions’ so I called on Monday and they said it was just to let us know the letter had been mailed. So maybe our girls will both hear today.

Gulp.
Thanks!!

I’m not sure if it’s going to make a difference to my D - she went to school yesterday wearing her CCM t-shirt; she fell in love with the place/the program/the people. Now if she gets off the Royal Welsh reserve list…that might change everything.

Dramamom0804 – something to help you and others not give up hope completely. UNCSA uses what I think someone here once called a trickle approach. They never have what happened to Ithaca last year where they made too many offers and ended up with a “bulge” class. They don’t have offers out to more than the numbers in the class since they anticipate that most will accept. Of course that is never quite the case. One big school in particular that is known to sometimes have kids gets accepted at both is CMU and their calls are apparently only just going out. People who have not heard yet may be in a bit of an internal waiting pattern while they are waiting to see if any of those accepted are going elsewhere. I do remember last year it was quite some time between when the first offers went out and the last ones did.

dramamom0804 - I think your D auditioned way before mine (2/15), so crossing fingers for your D that not hearing is good news.

I can second that… My D also auditioned on 2/15 and already received her no last week.

STILL an empty mailbox.
I am chanting to myself “No letter is better than a ‘no’ letter; No letter is better than a ‘no’ letter.” Deep breaths.
Her financial aid page is also still active.
Tomorrow is another day! We wait for tomorrow’s mail. ;-)

I’m rooting for you and D, dramamom0804!!!

My son received a letter that mentioned coming back the next year to audition. He did think about it but after a month in NYC he decided that he is very happy at MMC and did not reapply.

Still no mail from UNCSA here. Anyone else besides@bardsmom still waiting?
