Hey guys. As of now, after being wait listed at UCLA and UCSD, I will probably be attending UCI next year. Unfortunately, I applied as a Undeclared major to UCI. At that time, I was extremely confused on what I wanted to do with my life. At this moment, I hope to declare as a bio major and pursue a premed path, eventually leading into medical school. For those that attended UCI, I was wondering about the path, in regards to classes (Sciences or otherwise), I should take to transfer out of undeclared.
Additionally, is it worth it to take a bio class over the summer or should I just take a GE course.
Thanks ahead of time.
I don’t attend UCI, however, you should speak to your advisor when you can about your plans. Information about how to transfer into the Biology major most likely can be found on the UCI website.
Will the biology or GE class you’re thinking of taking be taken at UCI or a community college near you? If it’s taken at UCI, I would personally recommend a biology class. I’m not sure what you mean when you ask if it will be “worth” it. However, if you could complete a required course by taking it over the summer, I would consider it worth it.
You should also check UCI’s policy on taking courses outside of the school if you plan to take it elsewhere.
