undergad vs. grad CoC at Cal

<p>Hello. I am not actually sure if this post belongs in transfer threads but I am transfer student who is doing research so I think it applies... I want to apply for transfer to UC Berkeley's College of Chemistry next fall... However, I read that if you do their undergrad program they will not take you for graduate school? And this is not just Berkeley but pretty much any school that has great undergrad/grad programs in a certain field (Chemistry in Berkeleys case). Why is this? It is sort of making me rethink everything... I was thinking I could apply to their grad school (these are my plans) once I have my undergrad degree. Do they take anyyyyyy of their own students? For some this may seem like a minor disadvantage but it looks like it may be a big dilemma for me down the road... If someone could shed some light here or give me some advice that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.</p>
