Undergrad at UC Irvine (urban studies) or Cal Poly SLO

Hi,

I’m from the SF bay area and have been accepted to UC Irvine for an urban studies major at the School of Social Ecology, and at Cal Poly SLO for a city and regional planning major.

I was just wondering, is one school better than the other? I don’t know much about either, other than that they’re decent schools overall. Which would offer a higher quality of education, or perhaps allow me to build more connections?

Thanks!

I would suggest you visit since both are very different in terms of location and overall campus vibe. Both schools academically are very comparable but I would do a side by side comparison of each school’s major program to determine which might be a better fit.

Both schools are well recognized to employers and building connections is really up to you and not the school.

Congrats! Both schools are very good.
they offer a very different student experience. You really should visit both, talk to some students, grab an on- campus meal… one will stand out as more comfortable… follow your heart from there.
