colleges

Umich (instate)
NYU - stern
MIT - sloan
Berk - Haas
Upenn - Wharton

GPA = bad, but I worked my ass off to do well on my testing and in
business related clubs and EC.

I hope my hook will be my high test scores and that I play 3 sports

Chances at above schools?

NYU-Match
Michigan-Safe Match
UCB-Slight reach (they put a lot of weight on your grades and you are out of state)
MIT-reach
Upenn-slight reach

MIT is harder to get into than upenn? (business school)

you're doing just fine. :)

I heard some colleges drop the sign for letter grades, so A- = A
and B+ = B

?

anyone?...

Michigan-----safe as hell

NYU-match

MIT (REACH)

WHARTON (DEFINITELY REACH) it's WHARTON!!!!!!

Berk - Haas....

you don't 'get in' to Haas...you have to get into Berkeley first and then apply to Haas at the end of sophomore year.

thanks

I heard its really hard for out of state students to get into berk?

Thanks for the responses

also, even if u can get in berk, getting into HAAS is EXTREMELY COMPETITIVE, be prepared to work hard

Can you get recruited for one of your sports? You'd be a shoo in at all if yes.

I'm not sure.....i dont think so for lacrosse.

possibly fencing or rifelry, but i havent looked at colleges for either.

Im considering sports as a boost in my resume, not a deciding factor

also, even if u can get in berk, getting into HAAS is EXTREMELY COMPETITIVE, be prepared to work hard

yes. I've hard of ridiculously hard curves in early/lower level business courses because everyone wants the highest grade b/c its a class required for consideration at Haas....very drastic, even if you got a 93, that might still be a B. Very very very competitive.

Thanks for the info

competitiveness in a school isnt really a deciding factor for me, I think if you do your best work and its still not good enough, there's only so much one can do.

I plan to apply ED to my top choice. I'm not sure though.

ED to Wharton (Do I have a reasonable chance?)
or ED to Umich and seal the deal their?

Thanks

bump

which college should I apply ED to?

To be honest, it would be pointless to ED to michigan, since it looks like you would almost definitely get in anyway

Your chances are fine at all of those schools. However, Penn, MIT, and Berkeley are reaches. Your chances are Wharton ED will definitely help. Also, Michigan has rolling admission (no ED). If I were you, I would definitely go to Michigan since they have a renouned undergraduate buisness school, and you would only have to pay in-state tuition.
