Undergrad engineering for masters in Aerospace?

Hi all,
Ive just started my college search and am having a little trouble with looking at majors. As of now (without actually being in the program) computer engineering and aerospace engineering both look like things I would be interested in doing. My question is: Could I go to a school that offers mechanical engineering, do the undergraduate and then get a masters in aerospace? Or would I need to be involved in aerospace from the begining. The same goes for computer engineering. From what ive read it appears aerospace is just a more specialized mechanical engineering. It almost seems like it would make more sense for me to start with mechanical engineering. Any advice on how to handle this? Being able to start with mechanical engineering would open up alot more school choices.

GPA: 3.6
SAT 1850 If you have any school reccomendations.

Thanks!

Yes you can go from Bachelors in ME to Masters in Aero. It is very common for people to do that. As for BS in Comp Engineering I am not sure, but I would assume that it should be no big deal

No way. You can’t do that

You can do it if its in a related area, or if you take some remedial coursework. The first three years of ME and AE are in common, at many schools - statics, dynamics, thermo, etc. To do the MS coursework in AE, you may need to go back and take some undergrad pre-requisites.

No way you can do CE to AE - that’s very different. You could do CE to Electrical Engineering, though.

Contrary to the above poster you can do both options and its fairly common. If you do ME, you can basically go straight into AE coursework. Very rarely is any “remedial coursework” necessary. I did ME to a PhD program in AE and needed no extra classes once I started the AE program. None.

CompE is a bit more trick. The only way you oils really do it is if you were looking at the specific focus are of controls. Even then, there really would likely be a fair amount of catch up wok to do.

If you eventuallyay be interested in AE, ME is the safer bet by far.
