Undergrad Evening Business Programs

Hi Everyone-

I have an undergrad degree already from a top music school. An injury ended my music career, and now I have managed to get a decent job at a large bank.

I find the work very interesting, and I want to get an undergrad business degree to help my understanding of my work and to further my career.

I do not want to quit my job to go back to school, and I notice there are not many undergrad business programs offered on the weekends. I do not want to get an MBA at this point, as I feel it would be pretty useless having an undergrad in music.

Can anybody suggest some undergrad business schools with an evening program?

MBA is actually best suited for people with non-business undergraduate degree. Your music degree is fine. You shall go ahead and look for evening programs for MBA. You might also check with your employer to see if they have some tuition reimbursement program for employees further education.

Thank you for your response Christian. I have also read, though, that the MBA degree is very watered down, and due to the vast number of MBA grads, it doesn’t really do much for career prospects. Also, I’m not really interested in management.

Certainly I will research the MBA further, but right now it doesn’t seem like it’s for me.

At this point, going back to college for an undergrad degree in business wont help you much either.

MBAs were originally for people with a non-business undergrad. You will probably find there are more Part-time, Evening or Executive programs for the MBA. I wouldn’t worry about not being prepared either, most programs require you take a few pre-reqs before you officially start graduate classes.

But with regards to your logic, you want a BBA because an MBA is essentially worthless…that doesn’t make sense. I don’t really have stats for total mba grads or anything but my school is top 30 and public so there’s roughly 3,050 undergrads and 1,050 grads, only 350 of which are MBA students.
