Undergrad for Marine Biology

I am in my freshman year at a top university, and my goal is to become a marine biologist. I understand that I need graduate school to be competitive in the field, and I am planning on getting a PhD in Marine Biology from a graduate school. I'm just not sure what the best major is for an undergraduate degree if I'm following this path. Currently, I have a Biology major declared, but I am considering switching to Biochemistry. It's only my first semester of college, so it would be easy for me to switch, but I'm not sure if it's the best idea. The reason I would switch is because Biochemistry seems more challenging and interesting to me than general biology, and the major is appealing to me. Does anyone know if either Biology or Biochemistry better for a future marine biology career than the other? If any of you have any experience or advice on this, please share. I need to decide as soon as possible so I don't waste time and money on the wrong major. Thanks!
