Hello everyone, I have a question about admissions to a top business school. Let me know what you think.

If you transferred from a community college but did much better at a four year university, would you have a much harder chance of getting into a top business school? Setting aside all other variables for now and based purely on your undergraduate study records?

I'm going to change my major to History, and from what I know about Ibanking, you need to have good writing/verbal skills and history majors have that.

To get into Bschool it doesn't matter what your major is. I think they look at your University GPA instead of your community college GPA but I'm not sure.

What matters far more than your undergrad major is the kind of work experience you have. No B-school is going to say "Well, your work experience is great, your work recommendations are great, but you majored in the wrong subject, so we're not going to admit you".

As far as Ibanking is concerned, the most important attribute you can have is that you come from a consensus top school, because that's where the Ibanks tend to recruit. Put another way, a guy who majored in Music at Harvard has a better chance at getting into Ibanking than a guy who majored in finance at a no-name school. Fair or not fair, that's how the game is played.
