undergrad journal publication...or on staff of journal

how important is this--to be published in your school's undergrad journal or even get ur research published (if ur lucky us i know its super hard to get published esp first author)?

how would u compare this to actually being involved in an undergrad bio journal like being on staff? im guessing that if ur on staff u will do more reading/editing and not as much writing for the journal. is that bad? staff shows leadership but they dont get a lot of time to write/get published cus they are reviewing other ppls work

bump please....

Both activities-being published, and being involved in publishing are equally praiseworthy; while the former shows an intellectual curiosity, and an ability for research, the latter reveals leadership, and good writing/editing ability.

Go for the one/or two, that suits your interests and allows you to work to the best of your capabilities.

cool thanks Tartheheel. anyone else have experience in undergrad scienc journal publication (on staff or writer)? any anecdotes or tips?
