Undergrad Major

Just wondering if a dual degree of Criminal Justice and Political Science would look good to a potential law school (hopefully a top one), and if those majors would help prepare me for the LSAT and law school. I know CJ isn't really a good major for it, but it's what I've always wanted to do and I love everything about the CJ major so I'm hoping adding on polisci will help to better prepare me and also make me look a little better than the average CJ student.

Law schools do not care what you major in.

Neither major would help you on the LSAT. But who cares if they would? The LSAT is a test requiring 3 months of study, not 4 years of major.

Criminal justice is a bad major economically. If you still really want to do it, at least couple it with a major that provides you skills to sell employers if law school doesn’t work out.

Agree with everything the above poster said for the most part. Focus on picking a major that you enjoy and that can get you a job if you end up not going to law school. The last thing you want to happen is to pick a major for law school, then for some reason decide against it, and be left without any good options.

Law schools do give preferential treatment to some majors over others though. So an engineering major with a high LSAT score and high GPA is going to be more sought after than a political science major with the same stats.
