It will probably fulfill the requirement, although it won’t look so good. Engineering is basically physics, so they’ll wonder how you could know that’s what you wanted to do without having taken it first. I hope you have at least taken an advanced chem class, or at the very least bio. You’ll need to take a subject test in one of the sciences, and (in physics at least) just a first year course is not likely to be enough to get you an acceptable score. Good luck.

Thanks for the response! I will totally need that luck.
I didn’t really know what I wanted to major (Computer Science) until recently, so I allowed the school to make up the program courses for me.
I’ve already taken Math II and I’ll be taking Chem Subject test next year (I wasn’t prepared for it lulz, so I didn’t take it along with Math II).

I’m sure a number of students who are accepted into COE don’t take Physics until senior year because this is how their high school’s sequence the science classes.

You’ll be fine. I didn’t take physics until senior year and I was fine. This go without saying but you will need to demonstrate your competency by doing well in your science courses in high school. When I applied, I believe Cornell Engineering required me to take sat subject tests for at least one science.
