<p>Hi, I was wondering how easy it was to get say a laboratory research internship at Stanford with professors as a Stanford undergrad. Also, are internships mostly just doing grunt work or is it really cutting edge stuff that you publish research papers for?</p>

<p>I would guess it’s mostly cutting edge grunt work.</p>
<p>My S is a rising sophomore. He said that all of the kids that he knew that wanted research had no problem securing it and they all seemed to be very happy with the work they were doing. His feeling is that its very abundant. There are truly lots of opportunities.</p>
