Undergraduate B-School Advice

Good morning,

I am undecided on whether or not I should transfer schools to increase my chances of receiving employment at a BB, or any respected IB. I know this question has been asked a million times but I have not read anything regarding UW Madison's position in the spectrum of b-schools. (I am sophomore standing and I recently received acceptance into the B-School. I got a 4.0 my first year and was quite involved with multiple organizations.) I've been researching the IB industry and it looks like the chances would be slim for a UW-Madison student to snag an analyst position at one of these banks. Because of this, I am thinking about applying to the following schools: Michigan, UPenn, Cornell. What do you think about the combination of UW-Madison and IBanking. Do you recommend transferring?...Where to? FYI, I am not paying for my schooling currently, but if i were to go to school out-of-state, I am sure I would have to pick up the additional costs.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Don’t transfer. Network

Transfer to Wharton if your grades are good. I’m not an expert, but I know for sure that Madison isn’t really a target.

If I were you I would definitely consider transferring to either Wharton or Cornell AEM. Ross would also make a difference but I do not think that it would be that significant. I am sure that you can get a job at a BB with a degree from UW Madison but you would have to work harder(networking, keeping your GPA close to 4.0, work experience, exceptional resume…)

If you do not mind about location, you can also try Haas and Stern (same prestige as Ross but great location)

Don’t mean to steal the thread, but should I think of transferring from georgetown (msb)?
