Wisconsin for IB

Now, we all know that Wisco is far from a target program, however, I was wondering if there was any room for opportunities within IB for those who excel at the school. I am transferring into UW Madison with a 4.0GPA, and two internships this summer, one corporate finance related, and the other as a financial advisors assistant at a boutique firm. I am interested in being part of the investment banking club this year and working very hard to not receive anything below a 3.75GPA. I also happen to know many IBankers from DB and BofA in NYC and Boston at E&Y and DB which may help later down the road.

Let me know of any feedback/person experience.

It will be a big uphill battle - your best bet will be regional shops. That said, it is never impossible with a high GPA, internship experience and relevant coursework. The real challenge will be 1) to network your tail off! - you REALLY need to speak with and build relationships with alumni to get some resume drops - without alumni support you’ll have virtually no shot given you’ll be simply dropping an average resume into an online drop box, and 2) once you get a hold of the alumni, you want to make sure your resume is impeccable - you’re already facing an uphill battle - you will really need your resume to be top notch to have a shot even after you’ve networked.
