Undergraduate Research

Hi CC'ers

Is college similar to high school where kids who do extra research opportunities get greater chances into getting medical/graduate school?

I want to email my schools to learn about their undergrad research opportunities but I do not know who to contact. Admissions counselor's? Head Professor's? Who should I email to find out more?

Thanks!

Research experience is very important for grad school (not necessarily professional school like med/law/MBA) admissions, since research is the primary point of grad school anyway.

The admissions office is a good place to start when inquiring about research opportunities for undergrads. If you have a specific major in mind, you can also contact that specific department at schools you are interested in.
