<p>That’s true; but I surmised that those students have very high GPAs, great ECs, and submitted very compelling story for their essays. Berkeley don’t weigh SATs as much as they do GPAs, unlike many elite privates that practice the reverse. There’s no guarantee to get into Berkeley – A thousand of applicants with SATs ranging from 2300 to 2400 were also rejected. Thus, in my opinion, a balance stats would help a candidate win a slot at Berkeley.</p>

<p>On topic: The Claremont Colleges are also great schools for social sciences, particularly political science and international relations. </p>
