Undergraduate student under asylum pending status

Hello. I am in Texas looking to transfer into a 4 year institution ( Texas Tech University) from my current community college. I am currently under asylum pending status (with an EAD, A-number and SSN) but I got in-state tuition at my current college. With my current status, can I apply for federal or state financial aid? My court date is set for 2016.

I don’t believe so. My understanding is that asylum must be granted. Here is the info from the FAFSA website: https://fafsa.ed.gov/help/fotw15a.htm.

See http://www.cuny.edu/admissions/financial-aid/student-eligibility/resident-temp.html

That is a really great chart. Thanks for posting the link.

Thank you for all your answers. It really helped me out. At least I got in-state tuition!

I have the same situation, can you please tell me which 4 year college did you get in-state from?

Komil…look at the first post…it’s Texas Tech.

Have you studied in a Texas High School? How come you became eligible for in-state tuition?
