Undergraduate Transfer looking into Law -GPA question

Hey guys,

I am an undergraduate.

I recently transferred from Calif State University, Fresno to Cornell University. I have 62 GPA credits with 4.0 GPA from Fresno State. First semester at Cornell I got a 3.175 gpa with 16 units and a C+ in the mix (difficult Algebra class). Total GPA including that from StateU is 3.83-not too shabby. I still have four semesters until graduation, but it is obvious that the past semester really hurt the Cornell GPA.

Are all GPAs the same? Will Law Schools weigh my Cornell GPA higher than my StateU GPA? Will they look at my final GPA as a single conglomerate number? Or will my purty 4.0GPA be discounted from my application altogether?

I know I have a lot of time before applications (class of '11), however I may have to rethink things out if I am stuck with only a 3.2 as opposed to a 3.85.

Thank you,
Brian

They will weigh all your classes collectively and to basically the same degree.
