I am curious as to which undergraduate economics major is strong at Brown University and Stanford University. I have been admitted to both and need to make a final decision in four weeks and would love some balanced feedback to help me decide which coast I will reside on for the next four years. Thank you!!!

also, I want to know which schools has a better reputation for having its undergraduates receive internships, employment at top IB banks, and etc.

-S

Well, I’d say go with Stanford. Both schools have good econ programs but Stanford’s econ is truly impressive. In terms of Research and internships fro Econ Stanford is way better than Brown. No comparison’s there!

I also have a friend doing econ at LSE and he would have gone to Stanford but finaid prevented him. So, if aid is not a consideration, stick with Stanford. The professors and placements there are better and I know this for a fact. In terms of grad school perspective, Stanford would very slightly edge out Brown. You’d have better grad school prospects doing an econ undergrad from Stanford than from Brown. Same case with employment opportunities, though if you are one for global employment opportunities then Stanford beats Brown hands down.

Overall, I’d definitely say Stanford.:D
