Today I found out that I was removed from my English class and have not been on the roster for several days. I went to the Asisstant Principals office, and ended up in a meeting with him for upwards of 45 minutes in which I was on the verge of sobbing the entire time.

What had happened was that they had too many kids in the class, and by law, they had to remove two students, they changed my schedule so that I have no second period at all, and a sixth period instead. They moved my sixth period sport to seventh period. Somehow, they failed to notify me when they did this several days ago, hence I have been absent from my english class this entire week. The AP apologized for that, but when I explained to him that this schedule is literally impossible for me to have, he would not change the schedule. There are 35 other kids in my class, I have the hardest schedule out of nearly all of them (three APs and 2 cc classes. I'm in 10th grade), I'm fairly confident there are other kids they could have moved that don't have sports/as stressfull of a schedule. I have three community college classes at five every week, with sixth period xc I have just enough time to get to my classes, seventh period xc ends at 5:15 or later, hence I cannot be in two places at once. First, he suggested that I miss most or all of xc three times a week, which is clearly impossible, then just kept repeating how they had to take people out of the class or they would be sued.

I finally left and was nearly crying I was so upset. I have to go back tomorow to try to resolve this, and am wondering if I'm bieng unreasonable. Should I just suck it up and deal with either angering my coach and missing out on practice/bieng 30 minutes or more late to class every day or protest until they fix my schedule? I am I bieng unreasonable or are they? Thanks.

You are not unresonable!!! If you're taking a cc class, they should accomidate for you. Obviously they knew since they got rid of your 2nd hour. From my school rules, that would be changed, but i cant guarantee about your school.

I'm handling my course load fine, this is just aggravating. If I have no other choice, I can work around it, but it seems like the could easily make my life a whole lot easier. But I also am conflicted, as that would mean excluding someone else from the class, which would transfer the difficulty onto them.

Met with him again today with my dad, says he has no option besides switching me, so my life will be a complete hell this entire year because of that. Feel like crying, so angry, it feels so unfair.

UPDATE: good news, my english teacher told me that the AP had talked to her and I might be able to remain in the class, I'll find out on monday. If not, I don't really know what I'll do, maybe take it to the principal, or write the schoolboard, I don't know. Thanks to everyone for replying.

Stop messing around with the AP. Just go straight for the Principal, or even better, superintendent. You need to show them who's boss, and if you haven't tried this already, ask them why it was YOU that has to be removed from the class.
