Anybody else have their schedule royally screwed up? I just got mine a few days ago and every time I look at it I swell with anger, and if you ask anybody I know, I almost never get angry. It has to have been months since the last time I was remotely upset. Anyways, it's obvious that my guidance counselor lost the note I had her write on my schedule for changes I requested and met with her special for. Basically, half the APs I requested are currently off my schedule and one class I didn't want is on there. It seems they'd almost have to try to mess up my schedule more. I still have French IV, AP Calculus, Wind Ensemble, Meteorology, AP English, and AP Economics, but they put on Environmental which I did not want. My afternoon is practically free which would be cool, but I'm not interested in having the afternoon off. I want a tough schedule and the one they gave me is just above average difficulty (I know at least 4 seniors last year had 6-7 APs so 3 senior year isn't great at my school). Not only do I need to have Environmental removed, I need AP Bio, AP Gov't, and AP Physics added. I have already confirmed through friends that a 'course conflict' could NOT have been the reason those classes were left off since I found out which periods they were offered. Additionally, AP Gov't is limited to only 10 people so if I don't get into that I'll be quite angry. AP Physics is actually an independent study every other day, but I talked to the physics teacher multiple times about it and he said he was offering it and that one person was already confirmed to be on his list for doing it. Of course that person who was confirmed had the other guidance counselor who actually probably did something about it. Ugh! The sheet says I'm not supposed to call about schedule changes until August 29th, but due to the magnitude that they messed up my schedule, I don't think it's unreasonable for me to call them up tomorrow (The 21st).

Man, that sounds really bad. I hope everything works out.

Btw, how come your AP Gov't class is limited to only ten people?

Aw I hope you're able to make the changes... yeah, I will be calling my GC first thing tomorrow morning too to attempt to convince them to fix up my schedule.

And not only am I not happy with the way the classes panned out, but I'm also not with any of my friends almost literally at all and it's the last year together so I'm verrrrry bummed about that. That's not why I would make these changes, just an added irritating bonus.

Btw, how come your AP Gov't class is limited to only ten people?

The teacher only has 10 textbooks

Yeah, at my school the competition for AP classes is completely insane- you can't just sign up for them. Rather, you must submit an essay, have a minimum grade point average, and take a test specifically designed for admission into the class. Scheduling is tough because of the lack of periods for these classes

Yeah, that's exactly what I felt last year where they seemed to specifically choose classes that I don't like and put me into them. I changed it but not totally.
Good luck comrade! :)

Well, my school goes by a 9 period day and I wish we did have to qualify for AP classes because then I wouldn't have to worry about making it into AP Gov't. I guess theoretically there are requirements, but the guidance counselors usually bend any of them for a student wants in a class.
