Can someone explain Unified Auditiins? What is the process? I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed trying to figure it all out!

From the College Audition Blog (because I couldn’t say it more succinctly!):
“The Unified Auditions allow students to auditions for numerous university programs in one location over the course of a few days. This saves the student time and money and also allows the university to hear a wider range of students than they otherwise may see on campus.”
They are generally held in NY (January), Chicago (February) and LA (also February).
