Union or UVM - for premed/philosophy

Hey guys, first post here, its getting down to crunch time, and im trying to decide between these two schools. Unfortunately I was rejected from many of my first choice schools (4 of them) and am settling between union and uvm (and tulane, but not really).

I am thinking about looking into premed studies, whit a smattering of philosophy thrown in. I just came from a very small high school, and im not exactly looking for the same experience, but i felt UVM was a little big when i was searching. I have been to both accepted students days, and got a mixed reaction from both places.

My main fear is the social scene at both schools, im not a huge drinker, and not a fan of most people who plaster themselves in A&F. My idea of college involved dusty libraries, neo-gothic architecture, and sweater vests and horned rim glasses (unfortunately I couldn't apply to oxford in the mid 40s), but that doesn't seem to be the vibe of either of these schools.

If anyone can offer help, it would be greatly appreciated.

My d was accepted to both schools, and has friends at both. One friend is at Union as an engineer, but his favorite class is philosophy! D got the feeling that Union is more intellectually-focused than UVM, but Burlington has a great social scene. There is plenty to do on both campuses without getting drunk every weekend.

You really can't go wrong with either school.

Good luck!

anyone else have any thoughts on Union vs UVM for pre-med
