So, I've visited both schools, and the Nov. 15 deadlines coming up. I want to ED to one of the two (wish I could to both but obviously can't), and I have probably a good chance at acceptance at both (especially if I ED). Can anyone differentiate between the two, preferably about campus life, academics, greek life, internship opportunities? I honestly liked both equally when I visited. Thanks for any help!

What are your possible majors? F & M offers a major in Business, Organizations, and Society. Union offers engineering programs. These programs are not common in LACs. Union also has a Leadership in Medicine program (<a href=“Leadership in Medicine | Union College”>http://www.union.edu/offices/lim/) and an Early Assurance Program with Albany Medical College (http://www.union.edu/offices/health-professions/whychooseunion/EAP/). Union has the trimester calendar and F & M the semester calendar. Both will give you good internship opportunities. Trimester will make your summer intenrship start a little later but it should not be a big problem. Usually the school and the organization of internship can be flexible on it.

I looked at both schools with my D and liked them both a lot (for full disclosure she ended up at another LAC but those were high on her list). First, unless you have a clear favorite I always hesitate to suggest applying ED. When my D was down to her top two choices in the fall of her senior year we revisited them and she spent a day on campus (went to classes etc.) and her choice then became clear in her mind. You would have to hustle to do this in time for ED, but if you are not sure maybe wait for ED2 and try to see the schools once again. Both are great LACs so you can’t make a bad choice.

Other than that, from what I remember F&M has the house system and Union has the Minerva houses. F&M has semesters and Union has trimesters. F&M is in Lancaster PA while Union is in upstate NY. There is Greek Life at both schools.
