Yes, I'm aware that people have asked this type of question, but I'm trying to be more specific.

Are there any traditions/cultures in Cornell that really MAKE it Cornell? I'm not talking about "oh it's the best engineering ivy, big and diverse, out of nowhere in Ithaca, blah blah" I'm talking about something ONLY Cornell has. Here are some examples from other schools:

Harvard: Rubbing John Harvard's foot; Finals clubs;
Brown: Josiah S Carberry;
WUSTL: The "Bunny" statue;
MIT: East/West Campus culture;

Hope I got my point across. It could be a well-known inside joke, just anything that is CORNELL-ONLY is fine.

I’ll second that video and also point out that it’s IMPOSSIBLE to fully appreciate it without being a student. Even a freshman who might get all the references I don’t think can still fully appreciate the depth of content in the video like a senior might. That video was made by someone in my class my senior year and the timing of it was PERFECT for me to view for the first time.

Hockey games … (OK not totally unique but awesome)

Dragon parade by the architecture first years

Walking the gorges (not jumping into them … although I guess that is unique also)

The legend of statues in the art quad shaking hands (the reason can not be given on this family forum)

Ithaca’s history in the movie industry and the interact with Cornell frats (for example, the famous boat seen with the little rascals was shot on Beebie Lake)

yes, of course it’s about Radiohead. if you look at my join date it’s shortly after In Rainbows came out, so I was playing it a lot.

also I realized you might like to check the wikipedia page titled Cornelliana:
[Cornelliana - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Cornelliana - Wikipedia)
I think that might even be better than the 161 things in terms of answering your original question.
