units 1 vs 2 vs 3??

i know that unit 1 and 2 share the same cross road dining, but for unit 3 it has the cafe dining hall...
which dining hall is better??
and also, which units looks the most modern and newest???

Unit One and Two are nearly identical. I say go with Unit 3 as your first choice since its closest to campus.

And from what ive heard… Crossroads food is a bit bad. But then when I ate there a lil while ago, I thought it was fine. I havent eaten at Unit 3’s dining hall so I cant offer anything about that.

Both dining halls have good and bad days, so neither one is definitively better. Also, I don’t think it’s worth making a decision based on the dining commons because it really doesn’t take that long to walk from Unit 3 to Crossroads, or from Unit 1 to Cafe 3. In fact, even as a Unit 3 resident, I probably eat at Crossroads twice as often as I eat at Cafe 3.

singh, what advantages/disadvantages do you feel exist for people who live in Unit 3?

The main advantage is that it’s right next to campus, and right next to a TON of different places to eat. Bear market (located in the central building) is really nice to grab some quick food either late at night or on the way to class. Oh, and Unit 3 is cheaper than some of the other dorms, like Clark Kerr and Foothill.

One disadvantage is that you have to go to the central building to do laundry, which is kind of annoying, but that is a really minor issue. Also, some people don’t like that the buildings look kind of old and shabby compared to Units 1 and 2 (another minor issue…).

But personally, I don’t understand what the big fuss is about the differences between the residence halls, especially between Units 1-3. The only place I wouldn’t want to live is Clark Kerr, because of how far away it is from campus. Other than that, the dorms are pretty solid places to live.
