Units limitation When Enrolling?

Im an incoming freshman and I am wondering what is the maximum and minimum of units of classes I can enroll in in the upcoming Fall quarter (2015). And will the units limit change later on?

Also, if I enroll in a 4 unit course that I have AP credit for, would the number of units contribute to fulfill the minimum number of units for a quarter? Or will it not count was as “4 units” in the quarter?

Students can enroll in up to 11.5 units during the first pass and then the maximum goes up to 19.5 units during the second pass of enrollment. On the first day of classes, the maximum goes up to 22 units. You have to petition to enroll in more units.

However, for your fall quarter as a new freshman, you don’t use the two-pass system, so you’ll be able to enroll in up to 19.5 units. Then on the first day in classes, the unit maximum goes up to 22 units.

I would imagine that since you don’t get credit for a class that you already received AP credit for, then it wouldn’t count as part of the minimum or maximum number of units for the quarter. But you might need to check with the school on that.

Thank you for your input!
