hi im taking 18 units this year:

o-chem
ochem lab
bio 97
asian american (lots of reading)
anthro

and im wondering if its too much with o chem and o chem lab
anyone who has taken o chem and bio with this many units if you could get back to me that would be great

I would drop asian american or anthro. Both of them are heavy reading. You wont have much time for bio or ochem stuff with those readings. I was in the same situation, bio, ochem, asian american, and math. I dropped asian american since it requires alot of reading and I felt this prof wants us to focus her class more than the other classes we have. (Includes wrinting 300 word weekly responses, 2-3 pg weekly reports, group presentations, and lots of reading.)

I bet you meant 18 units this qtr?

I would advise you to see if you can handle it first, but it definitely is above the average load for freshman for first qtr.

Is it anthro with Douglas? If so, his class was relatively easy… just make sure you keep up with the readings and study a couple hours every day a few days before each test…

But once again, it is different for everyone; and so you should just see how well you can handle it, and depending on which one you don’t feel like taking, adjust from there.

Good luck!
