Univ of Hartford/Hartt - Accepted Class of 2022

Starting this thread off upon request. Congrats to all of us for ending a very long and arduous process. Our kids are going to thrive at Hartt! And can now enjoy the last couple months of senior year.

My S is MT, but it seems the AT/MT overlap some so all are welcome. Lots of questions and info to process.

Go Hawks!

My D was accepted for Acting, and we’re going up tomorrow to see “Dancing at Lughnasa” and then she’ll sit in on classes on Monday. If it’s as amazing as it appears to be, she’ll be going there!

Mom of a Junior MT here. Congrats! If you have questions, fire away, there are a few of us active Hartt parents still around and we are happy to help out in any way.

I think this thread needs to be put under the Hartt pinned school heading at the top of the page perhaps?

Hi! Glad I stumbled on this recent thread. My D got accepted to Hartt as a VP major. She’s really excited. Have not heard one bad thing about Hartt. I just saw this is a musical theatre thread lol. Congratulations to you all!

Thanks for starting this thread! We are committing this weekend if we can figure out her login and password to deposit on line

@actorparent1 My daughter attended last night’s performance of “Dancing at Lughnasa” and she said it was excellent. Enjoy your visit!

@adoptdontshop There is a parent who has been a regular poster here who has a daughter that is a VP Major at Hartt if you have questions specific to that program. Screen name is @Sguti40. I recently watched their Spring opera that was live streamed and it was so good!

My S visited there today. So any thoughts on Hartt are appreciated. Off to Emerson next weekend and then may finally be able to end this roller coaster… though waitlists are out there too. We are very fortunate he has some choices. Such a brutal process.

@DramaMan - Hope your visit went well, though visiting on a Saturday would mean no classes going on, so I hope he was able to see enough to get a feel for things. My D is in tech all day for Man of La Mancha, If you have questions, feel free to ask, or send a PM if you prefer.

@SAS0792, we had to email admissions to get my D’s login info.

@actorparent1 we have her ID from another letter/ FA doc. Was it that number and then birthday for pin or something totally random? Thanks so much !

Yes, that’s the one! I must have missed seeing it on the letter!

I don’t know how to pin this thread to the Hartt school? Help @theaterwork

I think it just needs moved but not sure how? Maybe ask the admin to move it over to under the Hartt school category

Not trying to be bossy lol

Admin - can you pin this to the Hartt School? @theaterwork you’re not bossy, just observant! :-h

@actorparent1 please let us know how the show was…! we don’t get to visit Hartt until the 26th…so I’m living through everyone else’s experiences right now…lol.

My S is visiting tomorrow and is so excited.

Are most classes held in the HPAC building? He is going immediately from the airport to the school, and will spend half a day tomorrow and another half day Tuesday.
I’m trying to get a better idea of where he should go once he gets there. Of course he tries to communicate with admissions on the weekend - ugh Teenage boy!

Admissions and administration for Hartt students is located at the Fuller Music building (number 17 on map) which is on campus. He should probably go there first to check in. They are so helpful. Here is a link with a campus map you can print out.

The classes are primarily at the HPAC which is just oiff campus and there is a shuttle that runs back and forth throughout the day that picks up and drops off right in front of the Fuller building.

@MThopeful2022 (and everyone else): “Dancing at Lughnasa” was EXCELLENT! Fantastic acting. D and I were both very impressed!

My daughter is in high school and has taken voice lessons at Hartt for almost 3 years now. The Hartt Community division is very good and they had one girl that won a national classical vocal contest a year or two back. They’ve also had some kids from local high schools that have gone on to top MT colleges. It’s too close to home for my daughter, though, as we live less than 30 minutes away and she currently wants to get away from home and be in a big city.

Hartt is doing Man of La Mancha and Little Women next week for musicals, which I think are their last musicals of the academic year. I believe they still have one Shakespeare play left.
