University Billing Statement

^as the subject line says. I got that today in the mail and apparently I owe UCSD $1,132 by Sept. 20. Did anyone else get this yet? I don't really understand why they're charging me now.

:(

haha, i owe UCSd more than twice that. around $2700. though i am paying by quarter and i'm living on campus in a double.

i got around 2700 too....does that mean i got a double... and not rate saver?

I got the mail and it says I owe around $2700 too. I checked on Tritonlink and it said that i only owe $100.70.

well i chose to pay my bills monthly and i said i preferred a single...i'm confused

ummm. Mine was like $8,000. But I think it's for housing and I guess it's for the whole year.

hm online it says i owe over $5100...but it is for the entire quarter, including tuition and room&board.

This should show you all the fees for housing: http://hds.ucsd.edu/roomselection/ContractAppendices2006_07.pdf

So as for luviet's question, I don't know if you got a single or double...it's counted the same according to that link. But what I know for myself is that I definitely did not get a ratesaver, though I have a chance for the temp space thanks to the extra Muir freshmen...:\ I did submit pretty early though

hmm i owe $5100

ewwww

ucsdhopeful-

thanks for the link. it clarified things a bit, but now i want a single more than ever especially if there's only a 500 dollar difference yearly.

Wheww...........I thought I wasn't going to get a single, but now I know that they're charging the extra $500 AFTER we move in.

On the billing statement they charged me for a single. I checked on the housing website and it is the exact amount minus the $21 admin fee for a single. I hope this is an early sign that I got a single (at Warren). Anyone get charged for a double?

You sure about that IGotIn?

Seems rather redundant for them to ask for two bills...

**
Single: $8711.00
Double: $8211.00
Rate Saver: $7211.00
**

For those Who need the reminder and have theirs viewing in an annual amount.

I'm right now at the $8211 charge :( (-$500 for the Prepayment we did back in June)

i applied for a single at warren too..mine is 1132 (monthly). but i think the housing website says it won't show up on the bill until the next one?

Ok I did a bit of digging, and IGotIn is indeed right. Heres the breakdown:

**Annual Plan

Full Balance Billing Date
Single: $7711
Double: $7711
Ratesaver: $6711
Billing Date: 8/11/06
Due Date: 9/29/06

Single Room Differential: $500
Due Date: 10/20/06**

The Full balance Billing Date fees have the Prepayment (from June) deducted.

Basically, the Single room fee really hasn't been added on yet. I'll put up how it looks for the other two plans in one second.

**Quarterly Plan

Fall Quarter Installment:
Single: $2732
Double: $2732
Ratesaver: $2332
Single Room Installment**: $500

Single Room Cost Differential for academic year is $500. This charge is assessed after fall quarter move-in and will appear on the second student billing statement.

**Monthly Plan

First Monthly Installment
Single: $1132
Double: $1132
Ratesaver: $932
Administrative Fee: $21 [what is this for?]

Single Room Installment*: $500*

Notice how in all three payment plans, the Single and Double (and makeshift Triple) fees for the first time around are all the same.

Basically, right now with these fees you CAN tell if you have a ratesaver, but you can't tell if you have a Single, Double, or a makeshift temporary Triple

How does the financial aid work with this? Is this what we owe with financial aid in mind?

Not for me. But I don't know.

"How does the financial aid work with this? Is this what we owe with financial aid in mind?"

No, financial aid will be dispursed in sept. 17th. Financial Aid pays tuition/fees first, then housing...anything leftover gets deposited in your bank account or they cut a check

How come on my "current bill" i only have to pay $400 when i got a bill for 2.5k+?

Does the boarding include the meal plan?
