Case Weatern Reserve vs Santa Clara vs Northeastern vs Stevens for Computer Science for an international student who prefers scholarships

Stevens is equal to or better than the other other schools academically, and offers good financial aid for highly qualified students. You should contact the financial aid and admissions offices of all the schools you are considering and ask what type of aid they typically offer to students with credentials similar to yours. I’m not certain how being an international student affects financial aid awards, so it is essential to talk to the schools themselves.

I love all those schools. I believe CWRU gives larger merit aid packages to more students than SCU and NE, though I’m not sure of policies and practices regarding merit aid for international students. I know less about Stevens merit aid, but sounds like a possibility in previous post. For most direct info, google the school’s name and “common data set” (CDS). CDS is an official report of the school. You can usually find these pretty easily for specific schools, though they can be a year behind. Section H provides accurate info on how much aid a school gave out and how many students received it. I believe CWRU gave 40% of incoming freshmen awards that amount to app. $24,000 in the last report, but double-check me. It tells you something about your chances, for example, if one school gives merit aid to 10% of an incoming class and one that gives it to 70%. You will have to check specifically with regard to international students though. Here’s an example, CWRU,

Good luck!

Stevens awards financial aid to approximately 93% of students.

Thanks!

Also do you guys have any idea as to how much my scores need to be to increase my chances for scholarships.

Northeastern is a very internationally oriented school with an emphasis on co-op and working while you are in school.

I actually would have put Stevens at the bottom of the list academically, compared to the other schools. But it isn’t that big of a deal for CS. All the schools are perfectly fine.

All of these are good options: apply and compare aid/scholarships after. Northeastern’s merit will be the most competitive. Financial aid for international students is rare for most schools, also check individually as mentioned.

NU CWRU Santa Clara and Stevens in that order. For STEM Stevens is as a good as any.
