I was wondering out of these two colleges which one will I get my moneys worth out of. I come from SC run track and involved in Key Club. My ACT score is 25 and I plan on majoring in psychology. I also want to join greek but dont wont that to be a main focus on the campus. Thank You.
University of Alabama is a good school but is it affordable?
As a junior in high school with a 3.5 GPA, you may want to consider taking and SAT and retrying the ACT with additional preparation if you want Alabama’s big merit scholarships (full tuition at 3.5 GPA and 32 ACT or 1400 SAT CR+M). See http://scholarships.ua.edu/types/out-of-state.html for scholarships. Alabama costs about $40,000 per year for out of state students, according to http://cost.ua.edu/undergraduate-budget-html/ , and does not appear to give any need based financial aid other than passing through federal aid (all aid is merit scholarships).
Other schools also offer big merit scholarships for stats, but getting a higher ACT or SAT score would make more of them possible. See http://automaticfulltuition.yolasite.com/ .
Be sure to check the net price calculator at each school of interest if cost is a concern. Find out from your parents how much they will contribute before application deadlines next fall.

Have you asked your parents how much they’ll pay each year? You’re instate for USoCar, which will MUCH less expensive for you.
if you retest and get your ACT (or SAT) higher, then you could get merit scholarships to get costs down.
In the meantime, ask your family how much they’ll pay each year.
As the others have said, UA is the higher rated school, but going OOS can be expensive.
OOS Tuition
UA= $24,950 a year
MSU= $18,478 a year
Both schools offer OOS scholarships and if you can raise your ACT scores, they both can become much more affordable.
For example, at MSU, with a 3.5 GPA and 25 ACT score, you would qualify for a $7,500 to
$8,000 a year award. If you raise your ACT to 26, then you qualify for a $12,500 a year award.

The UA OOS merit scholarships start with the Capstone Scholar at 27 ACT($3,500 per year) and go up to the Presidential Scholar at a 32-36 ACT score (full tuition or $24,950 per year)
http://scholarships.ua.edu/types/out-of-state.html
And it never hurts to compare the cost of these OOS schools with your in-state options, like USC. USC in-state tuition is $11,158 a year and the following link shows what in-state merit scholarships are available:
http://www.sc.edu/admissions/apply/costs_and_aid/scscholarships.html
Congrats on all of your hard work! It’s enabled you to look at several great options.
My parents don’t mind paying the cost because I am the only child.
