I am an out-of-state student who is trying to calculate cost, but UGA and FSU do not have automatic ACT Scholarship, so, guestimating how much do you think I can get from either school with a 29 ACT and a 3.9 GPA.
(do want to point out I have not been accepted into either school yet just doing calculations against the schools I have been admitted to for future reference)
Unfortunately, you are unlikely to get any scholarship from UGA with those stats. Merit at UGA is limited and very competitive and goes to students with high stats. Your ACT is on the low side (25%ile). Even admission is not a given. I don’t know about FSU.
You are an out of state student in both Florida and Georgia. Your 29 ACT score is not going to put you in the running for scholarships based in merit which typically go to students with ACT scores well into the 30’s.
My opinion.
What is your home state? Any chance for aid in the state where your parents pay taxes?
With FSU I know that last year to get the OOS tuition waiver it was a 31 ACT and a 4.0 gpa based on their weighting system. I have no idea though what they offer (if anything) for OOS merit for stats that don’t meet that level.
On one of your other threads, you indicate you are a resident of Alabama and already got a scholarship in your home state. Given you have instate tuition and a scholarship in Alabama already, this will likely be your best bet cost wise.
What scholarship and what school with a 29 ACT? This might help others.
