University of AZ Dance Audition Results

I am wondering what is the exact process of notifying students of their audition results for this dance program. My daughter auditioned Oct. 2 and although they indicated you would hear back by December, some students have received acceptance calls. The rest are still hanging....

Hi, I would think that the ones that have gotten the call are absolutes. Maybe they want to compare your child with the next audition before making a final decision. I would not read too much into it. College decisions are so difficult to figure out. You just have to wait. Dont you hate it? We are in the same process. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. The waiting is definitely not fun by any means. It is interesting though to see how different each university handles the process. My daughter is auditioning for several programs. I am now on a first name basis with the mailman. Luckily she has been accepted to one strong program thus far so as she would say “at least I know I get to dance somewhere!” Good luck to you as well! It is one crazy competitive field!!

Hi,
Yes the waiting is killing us. My dd just got her first acceptance at Shenandoah and is waiting for Chapman. This is her first choice and she wont hear until January. She has 2 more auditions in Jan. Good Luck to your dd.

My daughter is in the dance program at U of A, so I remember first-hand what that wait was like!! I actually had a note on the mailbox for the mailman to ring the doorbell when he brought the mail so we wouldn’t have to check so often! While she was one of the (lucky) early phonecall acceptances, a couple of her friends who didn’t hear right away did get an acceptance letter, I think maybe in January or even Feb after the second national audition. The waiting is tough, but at least no news isn’t a “no!” One of my daughter’s friends actually auditioned a second time after receiving a “no” letter, and was accepted and is attending… she felt she hadn’t had the best audition the first time around, so she gave it another try and made it. The process is agonizing, but from our experience, all of DD’s dancing friends are loving wherever they ended up, even if not their first choice at the time. Best of luck to all!!
