Can anyone please help me clear up the exact qualification requirements for an American citizen to apply to/study in the University of Barcelona? Though I understand Spanish very well and Catalan well, I am still confused and getting mixed messages from different websites.

The Education Officer at the closest Consulate of Spain should be able to help you with this.
