I was just wondering about the first prompt on the UC application. It says that you should write about how your family, school, or community shaped who you are today. Would it be better if I just focused on one, such as family, or all of them in my essay? Please respond!

It says “or,” so I think you should focus on whatever you think you can write the best essay about. If this is your longer essay (around 750 words), you might be able to squeeze all of them in there. But if it’s the shorter one (250 words), you should almost certainly focus on you.

In short, I think you might have a tighter, more detailed, clearer essay if you just focus on one.
