Help me begin the UC essay prompt #1?

The prompt is: Describe the world you come from- for example, your family, community, or school- and tell us how your world has shaped your dreams and aspirations.

My question is whether I should actually describe people like my mother, brother, and father and how they have influenced me (this would focus on my characteristics to be the best person I can be)
OR
Go a bit broader and describe how I've been raised and include a really good personal experience that exemplifies that and also exposed me to my dream career? (this would focus on my characteristics to be the best healthcare worker I can be)

Any comment/opinion would be very much appreciated! Thank you!

I went to a UC presentation and the rep said it’s a broad prompt because they want to hear all sorts of stories. I’m not an expert but I guess that’s an invitation to do whatever you feel is best.

Thanks. Does anyone else have suggestions?

The best answers, imo, show you are grounded, nicely aware of those who contributed to your sense of who you are- and appreciative. In the supps I know that ask a variation of this, that’s the point. Give your answer some life. You have a tight word limit, no?

The word limit for two essays is 1000 combined. Each essay must be over 250 words at least, so yeah it is a bit tight.
