I NEED TO KNOW IF YOU THINK THAT I WILL GET AID. My dad has $30,000 for me each semester, and says that I should only go to a school that pays off the rest. The most money I will take out for my own debt is $10,000 per semester, so do you think UCSB would pay $15,000 for me to go to that school?

Thanks!!

My UC gpa is a 4.42!!

Are you in-state or OOS?? If you are OOS, you will get little to no financial aid at any of the UC’s. You have a great GPA but your SAT would need to be around 2100+ to be eligible for a Regents Scholarship. Regents is usually anywhere from $2500 to $5000 depending upon the UC. The UC’s want OOS students that are full pay which comes to about $55K/Year.
If you are in-state, $30K would cover tuition/room/board each year. Books, Travel, personal expenses would be extra and you could cover this with a loan of $5500 or less.

You cannot take out $10,000 in loans per semester. Even if you could, that would be a terrible idea. Also, if your father is giving you $30,000 per semester, that would more than cover the cost of UCSB. Do you mean per year?

Yes, I am an out of state. That is why I am thinking of attending SDSU. Those are my two Cali schools. SDSU for me is around 30,000 which would cover it. I am taking the ACT in September, and planning on a 30-32. Thanks!

@johndreher: SDSU would be a Match for you. Good Luck and go Aztecs!!!

hey! your gpa looks very high and your SATs r fine for UCSB. ECs are great as well, so I would say you are set! aim for a 30+ ACT. Chance back? Thanks
