well im assuming if some part did got cut off, it probably would've showed or gave me some sort of warning saying "your essay is above the word limit" or something like that...

besides, i printed my filled-out application, and my essay section wasn't cut off.. I mean, I'm seeing all portions of my essay .. And I'm sure adcom will see the same thing.

I just thought it was funny the way you said it. On a serious note I have heard adcoms say that even if it looks complete to you it may not look the same way for them though. I am sure you will be fine. You did not go over by that much anyway and the UC's word limit is not as strict as other schools.

thats funny cause i was at berkeley and talking to an admissions officer and he was telling me about how one woman went over and her essay ended, "In conclusion i would like to end by saying.........." and that was it...The print out adcoms get is different than what we print out.... part of the application process is being able to follow directions....

hmm if that's the case, then i guess essays REALLY DONT PLAY much factor cuz I remember Cardinal saying his long essay was approx. 700 words long... He probably had a whole paragraph or two cut off and he still got in ;)

And don't tell me there's no difference between turning in yoru application on Nov. 1 and Nov. 30. Any body with common sense would know that whoever turned in the application on the first week will get their result back earlier than those who turned in on the last week.
