you have great chances at all schools.

Deadline is 11:59 PM, November 30.

yeah but turn it in early :P

Who knows? the power might be out all day on the 30th, and you'll be screwed

bump to my chances in transferring from UCI to UCLA...

Major: Biology
UCI GPA: 3.38
Units: 82 Completed

^ stats...

vvoc: doesn't look too great since you're coming from a UC, but still worth a try...

is it really that hard transferring from a UC? shouldnt they understand its a little harder at UCs than JCs? can someone really explain the situation of transfering from a UC vs JC? I understand that JCs have priority...but aside from that?

"shouldnt they understand its a little harder at UCs than JCs?"
yeah, they MAKE it harder.

huh lol...i meant GPA a wise... my gpa is a little lower than jc gpas transferring... can someone please explain the exact process of transferring from a UC to a UC...thanks

I'm on your boat, and from what I've learned on this board the last couple months:

Of course, it's harder to get a ._ at a UC than a JC, it's just that UC's don't care about that. They have a specific quota of guaranteed admissions from JC's , so they will focus on those students as priorities-- hence the various transfer agreements/GE completion programs in the JC's.

We UC to UC's are left to pick at the bones, but it's still worth a try I guess-- I'm not really thinking much about it right now, just trying my best on my essay, maintaining my gpa, etc...that's pretty much all you can do.

I'd suggest you apply to privates as well, because unlike UC's, they DO consider the rigor of your previous school.

well i really dont want to go anywhere else but ucla from uci...otherwise ill just stick to uci lol... what are your stats and where are you transferring from?

I believe the rationale behind it is that if you're already at a UC... why take up someone else's spot, even if they're coming from a JC?

lol ic.. that actually makes sense... ill take that lol

so basically what you guys r saying is that as a bio major with a 3.38 from UCI i have very little to NO chance in transfering to UCLA?

I'd put it at around a 5% chance +/- 10% depending on your essay and EC's. You're .3 off the average gpa of admits.

.3 off? im like .12 off lol, the average is around 3.5 for UCs, no?

Should I fill in HS information (SATs,ECs) in the application? There are spots for it, but I'm not sure if I'm suppose to fill that in too...

http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/Prospect/Adm_tr/Tr_Prof06_mjr.htm

The average is 3.61. Hrrm...actually you're off by 2.23.

Hey all...

Quick question: Is Santa Cruz good for the History major?

snap... lol i was looking at the average admitted GPA for UCI to UCLA... but i guess your stat is a bit more accurate to my situation... so im .23 off the average... my chances seem harder everytime i check lol...i guess ill have to b content with uci lol
