University of California Transfer Students Fall 2007 OFFICIAL THREAD!!!

also, how about soc and poli sci?

one more: anthro

i want to transfer for fall 07 but im debating to do so or not
gpa 2.95 @54 units
mechanical engineering.

im thinking i have a chance at uci? or should i stay an extra semester to try to finish igetc and get my gpa up.

ya what about soc at cal

So I know what you guys are thinking when you see my GPA, trust me I know too (just didn't take it too serious until recently).

Current GPA: 2.9
Major: Political Science
School: De Anza College
EC's: Work, some sports in highschool, hs clubs, nothing special
Applying to: UCLA, Berkeley, UCSD, UCI, UCSB, UC Davis - in that order
IGETC: Complete
Pre-reqs: Finished after this fall quarter
Units complete: 82

So basically I have a transfer agreement with UC Davis so if all my other choices fall through I have that as my backup. I am in my third year and will have the required 90 units finished after this fall quarter.

jasonp, I think you should go ahead and apply anyway, doesn't hurt to. If you don't get in then perhaps you can apply the next year after your GPA goes up.

mylifeisover23, if your grade is showing an upward trend, then it could be advantageous for your application. Write a kick ass essay too. UCLA and Berkeley are big reaches but I have seen people get into Berkeley with that GPA(although quite rare). Wish you the best of luck this school year and the schools you are apply to.

Thanks, hopefully..but it really only has an upward trend during my last 2 quarters, spring 06 (3.2ish) and summer session (4.0 @ 10 units). Hopefully I can do well this quarter also...and speaking of doing well, I should do some more studying right now..heh

Yes, a 2.9 GPA is a bit low for UCLA and Cal. Try your hardest and make it a 3.20 transferrable; that's the minimum for UCLA consideration.

Currently attending: Moorpark College, SMC, Saddleback, IVC, Ventura (basically CCC)
Major: Bus Admin/Bus Econ
Applying to:UCB (Haas), NYU (Stern), UCLA, Columbia GS
GPA:3.94
EC: Work full time since I became legally able to
Several years full time work experience in my field (accounting)
Possible internship in fall for CPA
Pre reqs: done in fall
Breadth:done in fall
IGETC: done in fall

^are you applying to columbia because the rep was at pcc? =D
I think ure gonna get in. You have stellar stats =D=D=D=D

Thanks AdamantineX! I hope you are right. Actually I am applying to Columbia because it seems to be a perfect match for what I want in a school. Also I would love to move back to NYC. I miss Chelsea :(

What classes are you taking at moorpark? I actually just got back from there! haha

I am taking English 1BH with Schulz. What are you taking? :)

Biology 2A and Biology 2C. Such a small world! Why are you at so many CCCs?

Basically because I work full time Monday through friday from 8:00 to 5:30. I had to change my work schedule to get to take the english class since it is in the morning. Mainly I take online or night classes since their is a limited number I have to space myself out. I also try to take around 22 units and most of the schools won't let me take that amount.

so how bout those 4 majors at cal:

history, poli sci, anthro and soc...

how difficult is it to get into in those majors...

anyone???

so how bout those majors
bump

Shamus, you're Irish, aren't you?

indeed i am, being Irish is the best! ;) are you irish
