Does anyone here know if the UC schools offer scholarships to transfer students with a CCC gpa of 3.5 and above?

"Does anyone here know if the UC schools offer scholarships to transfer students with a CCC gpa of 3.5 and above?"

I was wondering too
I applied to Berkeley and Davis.

I have a 3.9 from a ccc, good EC's and a well-rounded essay, do I have any chance getting a scholarship at Davis or maybe even ucb :)

I'm applying to UCLA and Berkeley's Alumni scholarship which requires min. 3.75 GPA for qualification.

dhl3, was the Alumni Scholarship listed on the application, or do you apply for it seperately?

separately.

For Berkeley, there are two types of Alumni scholarships: Achievement and Leadership.

For Achievement Scholarship, the potential candidates must've demonstrated an overcoming of an extreme obstacle, usually under significant financial difficulty, while having maintained a good GPA.

For Leadership Scholarship, the potential candidates must've demonstrated leadership in campus, employment, or community and must have at least 3.3 GPA.

As for UCLA, they have one Alumni Scholarship directed only toward California Community College Transfers. This one you must have minimum 3.75 GPA to qualify and have had a good EC to be considered a strong candidate.

And remember, Interview is required for ALL of the above scholarships :)

On the transfer update, if I originally put a class for winter quarter, but I'm replacing it with another class, do I have to explain in the comments why I did that?

I've completed my GE's and my Major Pre-reqs so the class is basically a filler class. The reason I'm not taking it is because I already have AP units that are equivalent to taking that class and I don't want to relearn the same stuff.

Quote: hopingtotransfer: when is the deadline for fall 07 transfers? wasnt it back in november?

The Deadline date is normally November 30. However, some campuses choose to stay open past the deadline and this may cause confusion. The UC Davis campus, for example, has decided to accept application from junior level applicants until January 31, 2007. Please check http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/undergrad_adm/apply/apply_majors.html to see which campuses and majors are open.

"On the transfer update, if I originally put a class for winter quarter, but I'm replacing it with another class, do I have to explain in the comments why I did that?"

That would be a good idea; yes. If it's a filler class and doesn't have any impact on you completing the IGETC/major reqs, then I think you're fine.

dhl3: thanks. I qualify for all of those, I think :)

Did you guys get the general e-mail from processing services asking to fill out the UC App Update?

Yes. That email also allows you to access Cal's update website.

still haven't received any emails yet... :(

Man, I almost don't wanna fill out the Cal supplemental.

why (10 chars)
