University of California Transfer Students Fall 2007 OFFICIAL THREAD!!!

me not 1 CCC

what the? you attend 2? where @?

who all is applying from out-of-state? and is anyone applying without having completed the pre-reqs?

socal?, I wouldn't suggest that with Cal and UCLA. But I've been admitted to UCI and UCSD without having completed prereqs.

I've completed 3/4 of my pre-reqs and am currently taking the 4th this semester? Dunno if that counts as completed but w/e...

Only a month and a half left until some decisions are posted! Does anyone know which schools post admission results first? And do UCLA (TAP) students find out before other UCLA applicants?

yeah I believe TAP students have their applications reviewed first?

Sorry for this same question, but on the Berkeley update, if I click Submit, can I still go back and change it?

Would a 3.9+ GPA basically allow me to consider UCB and UCLA to be safety schools? I have a 4.0 on 34 units with great ease thus far, so I don't see it falling much anytime soon. My major would be economics (I'm still debating on Haas, but I know that obviously couldn't be considered a safety).

Yeah just go back and change it and click submit again

i would never consider UCLA and UCB as safety school no matter how high the GPA. especially for a major such as econ and even more so for HAAS

I believe UCI begins notifiying transfer students on 3/1. UCSB decisions come out beginning 3/15.

The only case I would consider UCLA a safety is if you were TAP certified, all igetc & pre-reqs done by fall and applying into really easy major like Southeast Asian Studies.

if i'm done with my pre-reqs and igetc (over 90 units with a 3.9), do you think it matters what i take during the spring quarter? I mean i want to finish the english series but do you think admission officers will care if I take like no classes or what? Will anything help/hurt my chances?

Damn, I didn't realize transferring was this difficult. So do EC's play a large role in the admission process if I have a high GPA and good essays?

Transferring isn't all that hard, it's actually pretty streamlined when you transfer form a CCC and EC's do play a big part in admissions.

since when do EC play a big part in admissions? According to UC berk's collegeboard page, its not under the "very important" factors.

i would think that with a impacted major like econ at LA or Berkeley or HAAS EC's play a very crucial role in the decision making process. Wouldnt you think. Not every 4.0 can get in.

I dont think its the ECs, it'll be the essay that will make or break you.

I'm sure for Haas you need all three factors given the level of competition. My question was specifically directed for the economics major in the College of Letters and Sciences.
