University of California Transfer Students Fall 2007 OFFICIAL THREAD!!!

i think thats weird that they sent it to random people when i have a higher gpa than some of the people that got it and i didnt even get it! And they couldnt have already read the applications...

I have a 3.94 with all prereqs done and I did not receive it...

thats mine too lol

I asked them about it when I called a while and they said it has nothing to do with your admission chances.....

I'd take their words for it....

well UCLA sent out likely letters to some frosh applicants already (historically, these letters meant acceptances)

I did get an email from berkeley, but I doubt it means anything. I received an email similar to this when i applied as a freshman to berkeley and i still ended up getting rejected.

lostincode, freshman applicants are treated differently ...

What are the stats of you guys who didn't get this letter?

For the people who got the letter, what's your GPA?

I realized just now that this is the same letter/email we were discussing in this thread a couple weeks ago. Heh.

4.0 with last prereq in progress

no letter >_>

Have they even started reviewing transfer applications yet?

btw, I didn't get the letter. My GPA is 3.85 Econ major to Berkeley :(

maybe it has to do with some of the scholarships you checked on your application??

Berkeley's alumni scholarship gets more to do with ECs and leadership rather than the GPA.

I was thinking what xferstd was thinking

davis...yes that's the same email I received so I called to find out about it. They told me it is separate from the admissions process and one is not linked to the other... so then I asked how people were selected...they said that when you apply for admissions some individuals fit a criteria for different types of scholorships and your application is viewed to see if you qualified...such as leadership ability, first generation college student, overcoming adversity, GPA...etc.etc.etc...they also said that other organizations look to see if you qualify since when you first filled out your application there is a list of situations you click on. I remember that list...it had really bizarre things like...over 25 & never been in a sorority...etc.
Anyway, I'm not sure what it all means but I hope this info helps, I just was wondering if everyone got it, especially with some of your GPA's.

I just got the alum scholarship e-mail.
But it means nothing as far as your acceptance or rejection standing.

hey!
i just got an e-mail from berk regarding the scholarships (leadership and achievement). does everybody get these or only a select few?

read the last 10 posts or so

major: psychology
prereqs: done by this spring
GPA: 3.56
Applying: UCSB. UCD, UCI
I ended up with C in a transferable English class and another English class is in progress. Could someone suggest me how much this grade of "C" might affect to my admission process?

I would say you are in at all of them regardless of the C

i cant wait till april 30. im not going to school that day. i will spend the whole day refreshing the page.
